How to make money fast in Lagos Life
Everyone in Lagos Life wants the same thing: more naira. Here's how money works in the game and the order most experienced players recommend for growing it.
Heads up: The game updates almost daily. The figures below come from community guides (mainly lagoslifeguide.com) and haven't been confirmed by the developer. Treat them as a rough map, not gospel.
First: what the money actually is
Lagos Life uses in-game naira. You can top up with real money, but you can't cash out — the game's terms are clear on this. So anyone promising to "buy" your in-game balance or sell you naira for real money is breaking the rules and likely scamming you.
The main ways to earn
1. Your job
Shifts are your steady income. Pay rises as you get promoted, and promotions depend on your performance and skill level. Community guides list starting pay from a few thousand naira per shift up to around ₦21,000 for medicine, and top-level pay near ₦99,000 per shift in music. See jobs and promotions.
2. Side gigs
Short gigs fill the gaps between shifts. Community guides put them roughly between ₦950 and ₦14,250 each.
3. Businesses
Once you have savings you can buy into businesses. Reported options range from a small recharge & data kiosk (around ₦150k) at the bottom, up to big-money plays like a share in Quilox at the top.
4. Land
Land is reported to start from around ₦250k in places like Imota and to grow in value a few percent each week. It's slow but steady.
5. Daily extras
Community guides mention a daily gem hunt, and elected officials reportedly get a daily allowance — another reason the governor race gets heated.
The order to do it in
- Get the best job you qualify for and never miss a shift.
- Train skills in your free time — they unlock promotions and better careers.
- Fill spare hours with gigs.
- Save for your first small business instead of spending at Quilox.
- Reinvest profits into bigger businesses and land.
Where the money goes
- Rent is due every Saturday. Don't get caught short.
- Transfers between players reportedly carry a 5% fee.
- Tax: community guides describe a tax-free band with higher rates above it. News reports say an income tax was planned and that some players weren't happy about it. Check in-game for the current rules.
- Savings: a central bank with savings accounts and bonds was reportedly added on 6 October.
Traps to avoid
- Exploits. In the first week, an exploit let some players create absurd "trillion-naira" balances. The developer reset the unfair funds. If you find a glitch, report it — don't farm it.
- Casino runs. Eko Casino exists. Your rent money should not go there.
- Multiple accounts. Using alts to farm money is against the terms and can get you banned.
