Where to live in Lagos Life: rent, neighbourhoods and moving up
In Lagos Life, like real Lagos, where you live says a lot about you — and rent waits for no one. Players rent homes and can move to better neighbourhoods as they earn more.
When rent is due
Community guides say rent is charged weekly, on Saturdays. Always keep enough aside before you spend on anything else.
What it costs
Weekly rents reported by lagoslifeguide.com (unverified, and likely to change):
| Area | Weekly rent |
|---|---|
| UNILAG hall | ~₦1,200 |
| Mushin | ~₦2,400 |
| Yaba | ~₦6,000 |
| Lekki Phase 1 flat | ~₦17,000 |
Community guides put the full range at about ₦2,400 up to ₦1.5 million a week at the top end. Banana Island is the dream address, but we haven't seen a reliable price for it yet.
Make your home work for you
Coverage of the game mentions you can furnish your home and buy generators, solar inverters and gym equipment. With NEPA cutting power daily, backup power is more than a flex.
When to move up
A simple rule: move when a week's rent is a small slice of a week's pay. If one bad week would make you miss rent, you're not ready for the upgrade yet.
- Starting out (especially LAPO): Mushin or a UNILAG hall.
- Steady job: Yaba is the classic step up.
- Making serious money: Lekki and beyond.
