Lagos Life jobs: best careers, pay and how to get promoted
Your job is the backbone of your Lagos Life income. News coverage describes career paths across banking, tech, entertainment and more. Here's how the system works according to community research.
Note: The detailed numbers below come from the community guide at lagoslifeguide.com and haven't been confirmed by the developer. Updates may change them.
How careers are structured
- There are reportedly 21 careers, each with 5 levels.
- You earn per shift, and pay rises with each level.
- Starting (level 1) pay reportedly ranges from about ₦6,600 (content creator, football) to about ₦21,000 (medicine).
- The highest level-5 pay reported is about ₦99,000 per shift, in music.
Careers that need skills to apply
Six careers reportedly need skill level 3 before you can even apply:
- Medicine
- Civil Service
- Broadcasting
- Real Estate
- Aviation
- Product Management
If you're starting fresh, pick an open career now and train toward one of these.
How promotion works
According to the same guide, promotion needs 100% performance plus a minimum skill level:
| Promotion to | Standard careers | Skill-3 careers |
|---|---|---|
| Level 2 | Skill 1 | Skill 4 |
| Level 3 | Skill 3 | Skill 5 |
| Level 4 | Skill 5 | Skill 7 |
| Level 5 | Skill 7 | Skill 9 |
So the formula is simple: never miss a shift (to keep performance up) and train skills every day.
Education shortcut
The guide also says a good degree (First Class or 2:1) lets you start a career at level 2 with a pay bonus. If you have time to study at UNILAG early on, it can pay off.
Which job should you pick?
- Want money now? Pick the highest-paying career you qualify for today.
- Playing long-term? Train toward a skill-3 career — they start higher and climb higher.
- LAPO Baby? Your faster learning makes the skill-gated careers easier to reach. See Nepo vs LAPO.
